Nine arrested for ₹2.5 crore stock market fraud targeting woman in Bidhannagar

Bidhannagar police have arrested nine individuals for allegedly defrauding Helena Sengupta, a resident of Narayanpur, of approximately ₹2.5 crore through a stock market investment scam. The victim was contacted in January and convinced to invest with promises of high returns. Over several months, the accused extracted money from her under the pretext of stock market investments.

After realizing the fraud, Helena reported the case to the Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police Station. Following an investigation, police arrested the suspects from Kolkata and Howrah. The accused were produced before the Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Court and taken into custody for further inquiry.
