Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Bidhannagar police have arrested nine individuals for allegedly defrauding Helena Sengupta, a resident of Narayanpur, of approximately ₹2.5 crore through a stock market investment scam. The victim was contacted in January and convinced to invest with promises of high returns. Over several months, the accused extracted money from her under the pretext of stock market investments.
After realizing the fraud, Helena reported the case to the Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police Station. Following an investigation, police arrested the suspects from Kolkata and Howrah. The accused were produced before the Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Court and taken into custody for further inquiry.
Police are conducting ongoing investigations to identify any additional individuals involved in the scam. Authorities have not disclosed further details but confirmed the case is under active probe to uncover the full network behind the fraudulent scheme.
